College student gang-raped in Patuakhali
A college student was gang-raped in Dumki, Patuakhali. The incident took place at around 7:30 pm last Tuesday (March 18) in the secluded garden of Jalil Munshi’s house in Algi village of Pangashia union of the upazila.
According to local sources, the daughter of Shaheed Jasim Howlader of Ward No. 2 of Pangashia union, who was killed in Dhaka during the July ’24 movement, was gang-raped by a class 12 student of Sarkar Janata College.
On her way from her home to various houses, Sakib Munshi (19), the son of Mamun Munshi, the scoundrel of the same village, Sifat Munshi (20), the son of Sohag Munshi, and Imran Munshi (19), the son of Malek Munshi, forcibly picked up the college student and raped her in the secluded garden of Jalil Munshi in the nearby area, taking turns raping her and recording the video on their mobile phones.
The victim screamed but received no response as it was a deserted area. If she told anyone about the incident, the video clip and pictures were threatened to be posted online and left.
The victim, a college student, reported the incident to Dumki Police Station at 11 am today, Wednesday, but the victim alleged that the police were delaying in taking up the case until 6:30 pm.
As of writing this report, the victim is in police custody at 7:45 pm on Wednesday. Dumki Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Zakir Hossain said that no information can be given now. The Circle SP is coming, I am busy. Talk to you later.
