
Policeman injured in scuffle during march towards Chief Advisor’s office
The police have blocked the march towards the office of the chief advisor with a total of 9 demands, including the removal of the home affairs advisor and the formation of a speedy trial tribunal.
On Tuesday (March 11), at around 3:15 pm, as the march was crossing Shahbagh and heading towards Bangla Motor, the leaders and activists of the platform called ‘Bangladesh Against Rape and Atrocities’ blocked the march with a barricade.
During this, there were scuffles and scuffles with the police. Several policemen were injured in this.
The leaders and activists participating in the march said that incidents of murder, rape and atrocities are continuously happening across the country. The home affairs advisor has failed to stop this. He must be removed quickly. A speedy trial tribunal must be formed to try these atrocities. At the same time, they also demanded the trial of all rape cases, including the recent rape incident, rational reform of the laws to prevent rape and harassment with the participation of stakeholders, and the implementation of anti-harassment cells in workplaces and educational institutions.
Bangladesh Chhatra Federation Dhaka University branch member Seema Akhter, Samajtantrik Chhatra Front Eden Mohila College branch organizing secretary Sumaiya Shaina, Bangladesh Chhatra Union Dhaka University branch president Meghmallar Basu, and Bangladesh Chhatra Federation central general secretary Saikat Arif, along with leaders and activists of various reactionary organizations, are present in the march.
