Khaleda to exchange Eid greetings in London tomorrow
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will exchange Eid greetings with expatriates in a hotel in central London on Thursday.
At present Khaleda Zia has been passing her days with family members at a rented house in London’s Kingstone recidential area and will celebrated Eid-ul Azha there with her family members, said MA Malek, President of BNP’s UK unit.
MA Malek further said that Khaleda Zia will exchange Eid greetings with members of civil society, journalists, politicians and prominent persons of Bengali community on Thursday in a hotel in central London.
Khaleda Zia landed at Heathrow Airport in London on Sep 16, Wednesday in a private tour. Tarique Rahman, Khaleda’s elder son drove her mother to the hotel after receiving at Heathrow.
According to the party sources, Khaleda Zia came to London for celebrating Eid-ul Azha with her family and for the treatment of her legs and eyes.
After a long time Khaleda Zia managed to reunite her family in London. She is passing times with her elder son Tarique Rahman, his wife Dr Jobaida Rahman and their only daughter Zaima Rahman, younger son Koko’s wife Sharmila Rahman and her two daughters– Zahia Rahman, Jaifa Rahman.
Late Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife flew to London and joined the family as Khaleda Zia arrived in London to celebrate eid.
This is first time Khaleda Zia is going to celebrate Eid in abroad with family members.
As it is a private tour, Khaleda Zia did not meet any party leaders on first two days.
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Abdul Awal Mintoo and his son Tabith Awal made a courtesy call on Khaleda Zia at Friday night.
Later, she meets some BNP leaders of UK unit around 10pm (London Time) on that night at her rental house.
Meanwhile, Khaleda Zia visited a doctor at Harley Street in central London. Tarique Rahman drove her to the doctor while Tarique’s wife Dr Jobaida Rahman was along with them.
This is third time after London asylum in 2008, Tarique Rahman meet her mother. First time Mother and son meet in London in march 2011, second time they meet in Saudi Arab in 2014 during performing Omrah and lastly on September 16, 2015 in London.
Khaleda Zia likely returns to Dhaka on October 1.
