Human chain in Matlab to demand justice for Tuhin’s murder

Journalists from Matlab Uttar Upazila have formed a human chain to protest the murder of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin by hacking and slaughtering him at Chandana intersection in Gazipur and to demand swift exemplary punishment for those involved.

The human chain was held in front of Matlab Uttar Police Station on Saturday (August 9) morning. Journalists from print, electronic and online media of the upazila participated in it.

Journalists form human chain to demand justice for Tuhin murder

Speakers at the human chain said that publicly hacking and slaughtering a journalist to death is not only a barbaric attack on an individual, but also on free media.
They called for the immediate arrest of all those involved in the murder and ensuring the maximum punishment under the law.
The speakers also said that if the safety of journalists is not ensured, the voice of truth and justice will be stifled, which is a terrible threat to democracy and society. Therefore, they demanded that an example be set by ensuring a fair trial for this murder.
