Ilias Kanchan diagnosed with brain tumor
Movie star Ilias Kanchan has been ill for seven months. Ilyas Kanchan’s son Mirajul Moin Joy gave this information in a virtual speech from Canada. He said that my father Ilyas Kanchan is suffering from a brain tumor and is undergoing treatment. He gave a press conference on the occasion of the inauguration of the month-long program on October 22 on the occasion of National Road Safety Day 2025.
He said that Ilyas Kanchan has been staying in London since April 26 till now. His stay in London for this long time is only for medical reasons. He faced various physical problems at the beginning of this year. Later, when his physical condition started deteriorating day by day, his family members took him to Anwar Khan Modern Hospital in Dhanmondi, Dhaka on April 9.
After about 6 hours of tests, an MRI of his head was done. After 2 days, the results of the report revealed that he had a tumor in his head. However, he used to get stuck while speaking earlier. It was difficult to remember many things. The MRI report revealed that this problem was caused by a tumor. He said that this report was taken to the National Institute of Neuroscience in Agargaon on April 13. There, the doctors formed a board and gave their opinion that it would be critical to operate on his head.
Because the tumor is located deep in the brain at the junction of important nerves. After knowing this opinion of the doctors, the family decided to take him to London for treatment. According to the decision, he quickly prepared the documents and left Dhaka for London on April 26. The day after arriving in London, he was taken under the care of a neurosurgery doctor at the Harley Street Clinic there.
After three long months of various tests, on August 5, 2025, he underwent a head surgery under the leadership of Professor Demetrius at the Willington Hospital in London. He said that the doctors had said before the operation that the entire tumor could not be removed. This could result in loss of life, paralysis, and loss of mobility and speech.
Trusting the doctor’s decision, his family allowed surgery to remove part of the tumor. The doctor said that the rest of the tumor would be inactivated through radiation and chemotherapy. A total of 30 days of radiation and chemotherapy will be given. This radiation and chemotherapy will continue for 6 weeks, five days a week. This phase of treatment will begin this month. It will last for 6 weeks. After that, the popular star will be under the doctor’s observation for 4 weeks.
