Ship robbery in Bangladesh 7 dead

The bodies of 5 people have been recovered from a ship docked in Meghna in Chandpur. However, it is not yet known how they died. In addition, 3 more people have been rescued in critical condition. Naval police, police and Coast Guard members have reached the spot.

The deaths were confirmed by Lieutenant Commander Mashhad Uddin Nahian, station commander of Chandpur Coast Guard Station. He said, we have been able to recover the bodies of 5 people so far and 3 more people have been rescued in a dead state. All the injured and deceased were hit in the head.

He said, the ship was heading towards Sirajganj from Chittagong carrying fertilizer. I learned about the ship from the Coast Guard head office in the afternoon. The operation is still underway in this regard. The identities of anyone on the ship were not immediately known.

Asked whether the incident was a robbery, Mashhad Uddin Nahian said, it is not possible to say anything about it right now. We will inform you about it later.

Meanwhile, Saiful Islam, in charge of the Chandpur Police Control Room, said that a police team arrived at the scene after receiving a call from the national emergency service number 999.

Currently, three people were brought to Chandpur Sadar Hospital, of which two were declared dead by the on-duty doctors Anisur Rahman and Noor-e Alam. In addition, the remaining one, Md. Jewel (28), was taken to the hospital.

However, the doctors at Chandpur Sadar Hospital said that his condition is not good. It is known that Jewel’s trachea was cut and he was taken to the operation theater.

On the one hand, according to the information given by Greaser-Masud, it is known that the name of the ship that left Mawa is Mugni-3 and the name of the ship’s owner is Shipan.
Among those who died are Sukani Aminul, Master-Kibria. The names of the rest are not yet known.

In addition, senior officials of Chandpur Police are currently at the scene.
