Naba wins first place at the national level in Climate Action 2024

Naomi Haque Naba won first place at the national level in the final round of the Climate Action Championship 2024. 652 students from 57 educational institutions of the country participated in this competition. This competition was organized with the top three winners at the departmental level.

There were multiple workshops, discussions and presentations in this competition to make the youth aware of climate change. Students participated in various events including painting, murals, project exhibitions, and presenting ideas.

In addition, this championship has provided research opportunities to students from grades 9 to 12 for the first time. It is worth noting that special scholarships will be given to students who secure first, second and third place in each category in the competition. In addition, these students will represent Bangladesh at the World Climate Action Championship to be held in Kathmandu on December 26-31.

Naba is the daughter of Nurul Haque and Ruma Akhtar, a couple from Baro Lakshmipur village of Matlab Uttar upazila of Chandpur.

The event was organized by Gist International Foundation. The Department of Environment’s Integrated and Partnership Project for Noise Pollution Control was a partner.
