Light to moderate rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00am Saturday.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places over the country,” said a met office bulletin issued here.

Day temperature may fall 1-2 degrees Celsius and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added.
The highest temperature yesterday was recorded 36.8 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division while today’s minimum temperature was 23.4 degrees Celsius at Tangail .

Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 140 millimeters (mm) at Teknaf in Chattogram division.

The sun sets at 6:38pm today and rises at 5:31 am tomorrow in the capital.
