Govt to go tough against those spread propaganda on social media
The government will take legal action against those who will publish propaganda against government, public representatives, officers and members of army, police and other law enforcement agencies on social media, including Facebook.
The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday revealed this information in a press notification.
In order to maintain stability, law and order in the country as well as uphold the public interest, the government will take action against the wrongdoers.
The notification added that it was observed that false, fabricated, misleading and instigating statements regarding the government, public representatives, army officials, policemen and members of other law enforcement agencies are being circulated on social media.
