Bangladesh cricket team safely reach Pakistan
Players and officials of Bangladesh national cricket team reached Lahore in Pakistan safely Wednesday night to play three-match T20 International series.
A chartered flight carrying Bangladesh team along with some security officials from different agencies reached.around at 11:30 pm, Bangladesh standard time.
Tigers are scheduled to lock horns with host Pakistan in the first of three Twenty20 internationals on Friday (Jan 24) at Gaddafi Stadium.
The second and third T20Is will also be held at the same venue on Saturday and Monday respectively.
Split into three parts, Bangladesh will first play the three T20Is before traveling back home.
The Tigers will return to Pakistan to play the first of two Test matches in Rawalpindi, starting on February 7, before the Pakistani players take part in the Pakistan Super League T20.
Bangladesh will come back home before returning to Pakistan to play the lone ODI on April and the second and final Test, starting on April 5 in Karachi.
Besides the 15 cricketers, eight members of the coaching and support staff were also part of the touring party.
Bangladesh Cricket Board’s cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan and chief national selector Minhajul Abedin also accompanied the 23-member contingent, along with a few security officials and media personnel.
Ahead of the first T20I, the Tigers will train Thursday evening, putting the finishing touch to their preparation.
