30 quota reformists injured in BCL attack at Titumir College
At least 30 activists of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad were injured in an attack allegedly by the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Government Titumir College in the capital on Friday morning.
A group of leaders and activists of BCL Titumir College unit allegedly made the attack on quota reformists on the college premises around 9:00 am while they (quota reformists) were helping the admission seekers.
The injured were identified as Sohel Mirdha, Enamul, Khorshed, Al-Amin and Forkan. Among them, Sohel is joint convener of Titumir College unint of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad, while others are the activists of the Parishad.
Sohel alleged that BCL leaders and activists attacked on them while they were helping the admission seekers in front of the college.
Some of the injured were sent to the hospital for treatment, he added.
Meanwhile, denying the claim, BCL Titumir College unit president Ripon Mia said, “Our organisation had no programme today on the admission tests. I am currently staying in my village home in Narsingdi. Our general secretary hasn’t also gone there.”
“Then, how BCL attacked on them? Our organisation is involved in the attack in no way,” he claimed.
