Nor’wester hits Dhaka
A storm, packing wind speed of up to 85 kph, hit the capital on Tuesday evening, disrupting the normal life of the city dwellers. “The rain started around 6pm influenced by the nor’wester,” Aftab Uddin, a meteorologist, told UNB.
According to the Met office, a trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over South Bay. Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. Some areas in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions may also be hit by rain or thundershowers.
