BGB deployed in three cities

Rajshahi: Fifteen Platoon Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have been deployed to keep the law and order situation in the Rajshahi City Corporation elections. Four more Platoon BGBs have been kept ready.
Atiar Rahman, Assistant Returning Officer of the election office confirmed that 15 platoon BGB members were deployed in Rajshahi to keep the law and order normal. 15 platoons will perform BGB duty and four platoon reserves will be kept. They will be in the field till July 31. BGB members are patrolling different areas of the city since Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) spokesman and Assistant Police Commissioner Iftekhaar Alam said that the motorcycle movement will be closed from 12am to 31pm on Saturday, and heavy and light vehicles like buses, trucks, CNG’s, taxicabs, autorickshaws, liguna, Nasiman , The Kariman, microbus will remain closed from Sunday 12 till 30 till 12 noon in the election area.
In the RCC election 114 out of 138 centers have been identified as important. Rajshahi city corporation elections will be held from July 8 to 4pm on July 30. Total number of voters is 3 lakh 18 thousand 138. The number of men in the number is 565,585 And the number of women is 1,56,585.
Barisal: In Barisal City Corporation (BCC) elections, law and order situation has been tightened since Saturday morning. 15 Platoon BGBs have been deployed since morning. More than 4 Platoon BGBs are ready.
Meanwhile, the law enforcers are in a tough position ahead of the election. DB DC Moazzam Hossain Bhuiyan said that a large number of police personnel were deployed at different points of the city. BGB and RAB patrol started.
1857 police officers, APBN 156, Ansar, 300 members of RAB and 19 Platoon BGB personnel will be on duty during the election day. Apart from this, 54 executive and 10 judicial magistrates will carry out the responsibility as well as conducting mobile courts.
In this election, the total number of voters is 2, 42, 166.
Barisal Assistant Returning Officer Helal Uddin Khan said that in this year’s election, 7 Mayor candidates including Awami League, BNP, are contesting. Apart from this, 91 candidates for general councilors in 30 wards of the city and 34 candidates in reserved seats are contesting. Candidates’ campaign ends in midnight today. Candidates are so busy with the last campaign.
Sylhet: 14 platoon BGB deployed in Sylhet They were deployed in their city from 7am on Saturday. They will be in the field until July 31.
