UP member held with 8,000 Yaba pills in Savar

Members of Dhaka North DB police arrested a UP member along with 8,000 pieces of Yaba tablets in Begunbari area of Aminbazar in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, on Monday, reports UNB.
The arrestee is Shamim Molla, 33, a UP member of Ward No 5 of Aminbazar Union Parishad.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB police raided the area and arrested him with 8,000 pieces of yaba pills, said AFM Sayed, officer-in-charge of Dhaka North DB police.
Shamim Molla was allegedly engaged in Yaba trading for a long time, he said, adding that a case was filed against him in this connection.
Two more drug traders were also arrested with hemp from Kaichabari area of Ashulia, he added.
