Asad-Suborna pairs up in new film ‘Gohin Baluchor’

After a long hiatus of 32 years, veteran actors Raisul Islam Asad and Suborna Mustafa are all set to reunite on small screen.

For an upcoming silver screen project, the intrepid actors are all set to bring their chemistry back to the big screen for young audience.

The film, directed by Suborna’s husband Badrul Anam Soud has been titled as ‘Gohin Baluchor’ and it will see the two gems of Dhallywood coming together. The screenplay, script and dialogues are penned by Soud himself and he informed that the much-anticipated film will go on floor this December.

The celebrated actors have been friends since their theater days, for more than four decades. In fact even before they paired up for the celluloid in Syed Salahuddin Zaki’s highly-acclaimed “Ghuddi”, the two have been sharing stage for Dhaka Theatre.

The quintessential actors have not only starred in popular plays and dramas together, they also graced the silver screen with films like ‘Ghuddi’. Besides this, they also gifted the Dhallywood industry films like Syed Hasan Imam’s ‘Lal Shobujer Palla’, Qazi Zahir’s ‘Notun Bou’, Belal Ahmed’s ‘Noyoner Alo’ and Kazi Arefin’s ‘Shuruj Miya’.

Notably, Suborna Mustafa won the National Award as best actress in a supporting role in ‘Noton Bou’ in back 1982 but she refused it on the grounds that she played the central character in the film not the supporting one.

Raisul Islam Asad is currently in Bhola, shooting Nader Chowdhury’s “Meyeti Kothaye Jabe”. Suborona Mustafa, meanwhile, can be seen on TV series “Antorjatra” on Ekushey TV every Monday through Wednesday at 8:30pm.
