Mamata denounces Gulshan cafe attack
Condemning the terror attack in Bangladesh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said terrorists have no religion and everybody should unite to fight against terrorism.
“We condemn the act of terror in Bangladesh. We share their pain and agony and stand beside Bangladesh. Both West Bengal and Bangladesh share a deep cultural and humanitarian bond. “If Bangladesh is happy then we are happy, if they are sad then we are also sad. On that night (when terrorists carried out the attack in Bangladesh), I had kept track of the happenings in Bangladesh,” Banerjee said in the State Assembly.
According to the Firstpost, the Chief Minister said her administration had alerted the bordering police stations. “There are still places on the Indo-Bangladesh border where there is no fencing,” she said.
Banerjee appealed to the people that they should inform the police if they come across any suspicious people.
