BSS journalists demand new organogram
A meeting of the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) unit of Dhaka Union of Journalists was held on Monday for realizing demands of the working journalists and addressing existing anomalies including upgradation of deserving journalists.
The meeting felt that the management should get its act together and complete long overdue business particularly the passage of the new organogram which is long overdue.
Chaired by BSS unit chief Md Enamul Haq the meeting was widely participated by the journalists.
As a contingency, it was suggested that a “block allocation” be sought from the government to overcome the short term problems as soon as possible.
There was complete unanimity about the introduction of pensions as it was mandated by BSS law and prevalent in similar organizations.
It also felt that services and personnel should be tuned-up to ensure optimum output which would also ensure better service and revenue.
Among others Treasurer of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Madhushudan Mondol, Senior Journalist Shajahan Miah, Deputy unit chief Ruhul Goni Sircar, Mrinal Kanti Roy, Aminul Islam Mirza, Saiful Islam Shamim, Sajjad Hossain Sabuj, Kairuzzaman Kamal, Shafiqul Bashar Chapal, Ataur Rahman, Shahnaj Siddiqi Shoma, Selina Sheuli, Abu Sayeed, Ihita Jalil, Mohsin Bepari, among others, spoke at the meeting.
