England piled up a formidable score of 371/3 in 50 overs including two marvelous centuries by Dan Lawrence and Jack Burnham against an all-debutant side Fiji in the opening day match at the MA Aziz Stadium here on Wednesday.

Besides their centuries, Lawrence and Burnham played a painstaking 44.1-over innings for a brilliant 303 runs in the 2nd wicket.

On the way to his century of 174 off 150 balls, opener Lawrence featured 25 boundaries and one over-boundary. Lawrence was caught by Jake Charters off Josaia Baleicikoibia at 361/3 in 49.2 overs.

Burnham hammered 148 off 137 balls with mesmerising 19 boundaries and four sixes, before being bowled by Jake Charters leaving team total at 325 for 2 in 46.5 overs.

Callum Taylor fired unbeaten 21 off 7 balls with four boundaries while George Bartlett added an unbeaten one run to reach the final score.

The day’s centurions paired in the 2nd stand, after the dismal departure of Max Holden (3 off 6b) at 22/1 in 2.4 overs.

Cakacaka Tikoisuva made the first breakthrough in the Englander batting castle departing Holden was caught by Josaia Baleicikoibia.

Tikoisuva, Josaia Baleicikoibia and Jack Charters took one wicket each for 59, 71 and 84 runs respectively in 8, 9 and 9 overs.
