“OVIJIT ” Books publisher Dipon slaughtered in city
Miscreants on Saturday afternoon stabbed Jagriti publisher Faisal Arefin Dipon dead in capital’s Shahbagh area hours after the attack on another publisher.
The incident took place at around 6:15pm on the 3rd floor of Aziz Super Market in the capital.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Shahbagh police station Shafier Rahman said we heard about the incident that Dipon might have been killed.
The details of the incident could not be known immediately.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.
Earlier, Ahmedur Rashid, Avijit’s friend and 2 others were attacked around Satuday 2:30pm at Lalmatia area of Dhaka.
The injured bloggers were Tarek Rahim, 35, Sudip Kumar Roy Barman, 32, and Ahmad Tarek Rashid Tutul, 40. They published a book written by blogger Avijit Roy, who was also killed earlier by miscreants.
The wounded persons were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital soon after the incident.
Police said a group of unidentified criminals swooped on a publication house – Shuddhasar Publication- at Lalmatia under Mohammadpur thana this afternoon.
Later, police rescued them and rushed to the hospital.
